DIY Mini-Car Class
How do wheels and axles help cars move? What is the role of the exhaust system and fuel tank? Learn how cars work in this fun STEAM workshop! Build your own mini-car using upcycled materials and test it out by “driving” it down our handmade ramp.
DETAILS:
Children listen, learn and share during our technical talk on simple auto mechanics. Applying their knowledge hands-on, they get to build a mini-car out of TP rolls, dowel rods, beads, buttons, telephone wire, and pipe cleaners. The piece de resistance? Customizing their rides with markers + washi tape and watching them roll down the ramp! (See video below)
AUDIENCE:
Victoria has taught this engaging workshop to K-8th graders, second language speakers, and children with differing abilities. Copies of an infographic are provided, so everyone can easily follow along regardless of language or ability. Children 6-10 yrs old must be accompanied by a caregiver.

This class involves extensive preparation. Fee includes prep, supplies + 90 minute class.

EASY TO HOST:
Tables and chairs needed. No AV. Each child receives DIY Kit and group instruction.
